Articulation of Naive Bayes

[edit]

"In the statistics literature, naive Bayes models are known under a variety of names, including simple Bayes and independence Bayes.[5] All these names reference the use of Bayes' theorem in the classifier's decision rule, but naive Bayes is not (necessarily) a Bayesian method.". This is about as unhelpful to the reader as a paragraph can be. Either list all the known names it is know by or do not mention it as it does not inform the reader. Similarly, do not say what something is not, that adds nothing and is again painfully unhelpful. Make reference to what the 'Bayes' is referring to and then elaborate. Either way this whole paragraph needs re-writing from the bottom up. PaddyBasher (talk) 19:02, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
